Meet Jacob Smith he has been interning with us this summer.
Jacob is currently attending UW Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin for a BS in Construction Management. He is in his third year at Stout and will be graduating at the end of the Fall semester 2022. He originates from Poplar Grove, IL where during high school he attended Rock Valley College to graduate with an honors diploma and an Associate of Arts.
"I have learned a large range of things during my time at Sjostrom’s. I have learned everything from the ground up by having time to work in the field alongside the superintendents, spending time in the shop learning the equipment and understanding the importance of maintaining them, and finally being in the office. While in the office I have had time working with ongoing projects whether that be attending pre-bids, digging through plans and specs, doing takeoffs, contacting subcontractors, as well as doing safety checks. There wasn’t a day that I wasn’t able to pick up something new or ask questions to learn. Sjostrom’s has given me the chance to start working toward my future and I will forever be more knowledgeable because of it."
